Renée Reviews 2022 and Shares What Next Year Has in Store


Another year has come and gone, which means it’s time for one of my favorite tasks—updating you all on this year’s highlights (plus giving a sneak peek of what’s to come). Being able to share personal updates like these is one of my favorite parts of being a small, founder-led business. Without further ado, here are some of the most noteworthy things that happened at our company in 2022.

We Re-Launched Triple Berry Smooth Peel (and It Brought a Friend!)

The biggest news of the year was the long-awaited relaunch of our beloved Triple Berry Smoothing Peel. As many of you already know, the peel was discontinued due to supply chain issues related to the pandemic. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to reevaluate Triple Berry and modernize the formulation. This product has been in my line for over ten years and has been one of our best-sellers for almost that long, so it was incredibly important to me to get the reformulation just right. More than anything, I was so grateful for our wonderful customers who waited patiently for me to perfect the formula (and amassed a waitlist of almost 5,000 people!). Because of you, this really was a labor of love for me. It took a lot of time to get it just right, but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

In addition to the peel, we launched an exciting new companion product—the Triple Berry Smoothing Scrub. It’s a gentle facial scrub with perfectly rounded jojoba beads in a creamy, velvety base. I’ve always been a big believer in the power of a good facial scrub because of its ability to instantly reveal brighter, smoother skin (and help fade pigmentation over time). This scrub harnesses all the antioxidant power of the triple berry peel and has been giving people great results when used with the peel or on its own. I’ve been getting really good feedback on this scrub so far, which makes me so proud!

We Hired a Full-Time, In-House Esthetician

I couldn’t do what I do without my team to back me, and it never stops bringing me joy to see our team growing. I was thrilled when one of our part-time employees came on board full-time. After starting in a contract position, Lexi is now officially our in-house esthetician. She’s available via email to help you with any skincare or product questions you may have. She’s also spearheading our virtual consults! Speaking of which…

We Re-launched Virtual Consultations

This year, we officially re-launched our MySkinRx virtual consultations! I love this program because it represents everything that my brand stands for—you are unique, and so is your skin. Skincare gets confusing, and sometimes it’s hard to tell what you need no matter how many blog posts or product descriptions you read. We understand that, so we offer this service to give you one-on-one guidance. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of your skin, lifestyle tips, and, of course, a bespoke skincare routine.

We Launched Product Reviews On the Website

For the first time ever, we launched product reviews on our website. This company isn’t just a business to me, it’s also my passion. I’ve been putting all of myself into it for over 25 years, so I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t nerve-wracking to open it up to everyone’s opinions. That said, there’s nothing more important to me than listening to our customers, getting their feedback, and incorporating that feedback into how I run my company. Reviews are one of the best ways for people to give us direct feedback, so I decided that opening this channel of communication was the best move. 

The reviews have been rolling in, and it’s already been such a helpful tool for us. I’m proud to say that based on the five-star rating system, we have a 4.8 average with 90% of our reviews being five stars!

We Launched Subscriptions and SMS

In addition to reviews, we launched subscriptions on our site. This was another feature we wanted to add to improve customer experience by making the ordering process more convenient and streamlined. Now, we’ll automatically send you the products you consistently re-order (with a little discount thrown in, who doesn’t love that?). 

We also launched text messaging as a way to bring your more helpful content and some of my best skincare tips. You’ll also get information about deals and new products. Sign up for SMS to be the first to get unique content and announcements.

We Had Our First-Ever Spring Sale

Most of you already know that we hold our annual sale each year at the end of August. This is the anniversary of when I started my company (as well as my birthday!). We wanted to try adding a second sale so customers wouldn’t have to wait a full year for another one to come around. It was a big hit, so keep an eye out for another one in 2023!

I Had a Busy Year for New Product Development

This year has been BUSY for me when it comes to product development. I have so many new things in the works, and I can’t wait to be able to share more details with you. This is hands-down my favorite part of my job because it really allows me to be creative and bring to life the millions of ideas I have. 

We’ll be launching an exciting new product this spring. It’s unlike anything we have in our current product line, so make sure you’re signed up for our emails to get updates as we get closer to the launch date. As far as the other products I’m working on, I’ll give you a hint—they tap into barrier repair and will offer innovative solutions for all different skin types.

I Stayed Connected With the Beauty Industry

One of the things I love most about being in the beauty industry is the people I get to meet. This industry has some of the brightest, kindest, and most creative people, and I never get tired of learning from them.

An event that was particularly special to me was the Marie Claire Power Trip. This event is a women-only networking conference that happens once a year. It’s designed to foster meaningful relationships and always includes inspirational panels and speakers. The guest list is full of some pretty impressive women, so I was very honored to be invited this year. 

I also attended the Skin of Color Conference in Atlanta where I was asked to give a presentation about my business knowledge and share what it’s like to start a skincare company. This event was incredible because it allowed me to support and connect with my fellow estheticians. 

Finally, I gave a skincare masterclass at SoHo House in my hometown of Austin. For this class, I focused on how to give your skin an at-home facial. Everyone who attended the class got a Berry Bestie Box, which included both of our triple berry products! It was such a good time, and my goal is definitely to do more events like this in 2023 so I can connect with more of you in person.
